Yolk IT welcomed Senior Front End Developer David Wilde to our Cardiff head office for the first tech workshop of the year. Discussing the benefits of using immutable data structures for functional programming with the library immutable.js, David gave an insightful look into the library, the benefits of using immutable.js and wrapped up the evening by setting our audience with a ‘minesweeper’ type challenge for them to get their teeth into.
There was a real mix of experience amongst our audience with David fielding some very interesting and thought-provoking questions, which catered for the seasoned contractors and the beginners who were getting their heads round using JavaScript for the first time. The challenge gave everyone a chance to put their new knowledge into practice, whilst networking with fellow members of the South Wales and South West development community.
