On Behalf of Our Client, We Are Looking for an Accounts Assistant!

Our client, a well-established family-run business based in Chepstow, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their friendly finance team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with day-to-day accounting duties, including processing invoices and payments.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and supplier statements.
  • Maintain the purchase ledger and sales ledger.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Handle payroll and general administrative tasks as required.
  • Provide support for queries from suppliers and customers.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience in an accounts assistant or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Proficient in using accounting software (experience with Sage or similar preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive, problem-solving approach to tasks.
