Yolk recruitment are working with a leading aerospace organisation looking to bring in an experienced Buyer with strong knowledge of aluminium, extrusions, and complex supply chains. This is a high-impact role managing strategic relationships, overseeing contract management, and driving performance across an international supplier base.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage strategic aluminium (extrusion) suppliers across a global supply base
Lead or support multi-functional project teams, ensuring delivery across time, cost, and quality
Run full-cycle contract management including supplier selection, tender processes, negotiations, and change control
Oversee the end-to-end Aluminium ConBid process, including demand monitoring, allocation optimisation, and risk mitigation
Act as a key link between engineering, commercial, and procurement teams
Conduct supplier reviews and participate in development plans to drive performance and efficiency
Essential Experience Required:
Background in buying or supply chain management, ideally within a complex or engineering-led environment
Strong technical understanding of aluminium, metals, or materials, with confidence in reading and interpreting specifications
Experience working with international suppliers and navigating global procurement challenges
Proficient in SAP, particularly in managing supplier or procurement data
Comfortable managing multiple stakeholders across complex organisational structures
Solid contract management experience, including tendering, negotiations, and compliance
