Yolk Recruitment Public Sector and Not-for-Profit is thrilled to be selected as the Specialist Recruitment partner for Valleys to Coast to appoint a Risk Manager (Compliance) to bring your knowledge and expertise to a values-led housing association during a time of exciting change and transformation.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a highly skilled Risk Manager (Compliance) to join the team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a key opportunity to strengthen their internal policies, procedures, and processes to ensure robust compliance with statutory, regulatory, and sector-specific requirements within the Welsh social housing sector.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Assets and Sustainability, you'll play a crucial role in reviewing, developing, and embedding robust compliance frameworks across the organisation. While the role has no direct line management responsibilities, you'll collaborate across departments to ensure our policies and procedures are practical, effective, and fully compliant with statutory, regulatory, and sector-specific requirements in Wales.

From fire safety to legionella control, this role spans a wide range of compliance areas-requiring someone who's confident translating complex legislation into workable solutions that make a difference.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading the review and implementation of housing compliance policies and procedures
  • Providing expert advice on legal and regulatory compliance
  • Conducting gap analyses and internal audits (fire, gas, electric, asbestos, lifts, and more)
  • Creating clear, practical guidance to support internal teams
  • Working with stakeholders, tenants, and senior leaders to co-develop policies
  • Supporting assurance frameworks for ongoing compliance
  • Embedding EDI principles and contributing to a positive compliance culture

What We're Looking For

  • A professional qualification in a landlord compliance area (e.g. BTEC OND/HND, BSc)
  • NEBOSH or equivalent H&S qualification
  • Strong understanding of statutory housing compliance, especially in Wales
  • Strong track record in delivering Health and Safety/landlord compliance programmes with capital and revenue budget control

Benefits

Valleys to Coast is more than a Housing Association - they're a community-focused organisation driven by values. You'll join a team that believes in support, challenge, and collaboration, offering some fantastic benefits such as:

  • Hybrid and flexible working: 9 day fortnight and early finish on a Friday
  • Annual leave: 25 days increasing by 1 day for every completed year up to a maximum of 5 days plus bank holidays
  • Competitive Pension: SHPs - Valleys to Coast contribute 3% more than you each month (minimum contribution where you pay 4%, V2C pay 7%; maximum contribution where you pay 6%, V2C pay 9%)
  • Recognition events and thousands of retail discounts
  • Health care cash plan to help you pay for essential health bills, as well as providing you with 24-hour access to GP advice, counselling and more.
