MECHANICAL ARCHITECT - INSIDE IR35 - £60 PER HOUR VIA UMBRELLA - STEVENAGE - 12 MONTHS - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS
Yolk Recruitment are recruiting for a Mechanical Architect for our client over in Stevenage on an initial 12 month contract.
About Us: We are a leading recruitment agency, and we are excited to present an exclusive opportunity with our esteemed client. Our client is seeking a highly skilled Missile Mechanical Architecture Specialist to join their dynamic team. This role involves managing the delivery of missile mechanical architecture requirements, ensuring precision and excellence in every aspect of the project.
Responsibilities: As the Missile Mechanical Architecture Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
- Establishing the Missile Airframe Task Requirements Specification (TRS) to ensure a structured and coherent mechanical response to the overall Missile TRS.
- Managing the mechanical interface with the launcher and handling Mechanical & Thermal Interfaces across the Missile.
- Defining the optimal mechanical architecture for all missile variants, ensuring compliance with requirements.
- Implementing GMA Policies to achieve Modularity & Reuse objectives.
- Developing the overall proving logic for the validation of the Airframe.
- Ensuring mechanical compliance to the Airframe TRS for missile certificate of design.
- Interface with and manage customer expectations throughout the development process.
- Producing Statements of Work and plans for activities within your sphere of responsibility.
- Direct technical supervision of engineers within your team and indirect management of engineers in the extended project team.
- Controlling assigned budgets, managing personal workload, and identifying any further resource needs.
Key Skills and Experience: We are looking for an individual who possesses:
- Education to degree level with 10 years' experience or an equivalent qualification, demonstrating significant experience in mechanical engineering.
- Ability to technically manage internal and sub-contract activities.
- Strong leadership skills, capable of establishing a clear engineering vision.
- Good knowledge and experience of missile mechanical design, including Static & Dynamic Analysis, Design for Environment, and Thermal Management.
- Understanding of broader engineering disciplines, including Aerodynamics, Testability, and Production.
- Experience in developing proving logic and managing the generation of compliance evidence towards Certificates of Design.
- Expertise across the full Product Life Cycle.
- Ability to influence senior managers and other stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills and well-developed communication abilities (both written and verbal).
- Willingness to travel within the UK and Europe.
