Yolk Recruitment are currently hiring for an MQTT Technical Architect on an initial 6 month contract with likely extension.

*** This is a hybrid role and will require occasional on site visits ***

As an MQTT Architect you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing MQTT-based messaging systems that are crucial for our IoT solutions. You will work closely with development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that our messaging architecture meets the highest standards of performance, reliability, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement MQTT-based messaging architectures for IoT applications.
• Select and configure MQTT brokers to meet project requirements.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate MQTT into IoT platforms and applications.
• Ensure the security and reliability of the MQTT messaging systems
• Monitor and optimize the performance of the MQTT infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain documentation for the MQTT architecture and related processes.
• Provide guidance and support to development teams on best practices for using MQTT.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in MQTT and related technologies.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in designing and implementing MQTT-based systems.
• Strong understanding of the MQTT protocol, including its features and Quality of Service (QoS) levels.
• Experience with MQTT brokers
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in IoT development
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their IoT services.
• Knowledge of IoT protocols and standards (e.g., CoAP, AMQP, HTTP/HTTPS).
• Experience with data streaming and processing technologies
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
